SPRING SUPPER FOR UKRAINE

APRIL 2022

This week I cooked a 5-course vegetarian pop-up dinner at T@ Café in Hove, with all the profits being donated directly to aid those in Ukraine.

It was hosted by myself and Ania Smelskaya, a.k.a SWEET CHEEKS - we served simple, creative small plates, inspired by the food of Ukraine, my recent travels to Mexico, and the abundance of seasonal produce available in spring, along with a curated wine pairing.

"Like many others, we are deeply saddened by the recent acts of violence and destruction occurring in Ukraine, so wanted to use our combined skills to work on an event that gives to those protecting their country and caring for others. All profits from our Spring Supper will be donated to aid those requiring medical supplies in Ukraine, and we hope that through our passion for good food and wine, we can make a difference during this troubling time."

Snack - dill and cucumber

Whipped Curd Cheese with pickled radish, candied roots and wild garlic pampushky

Blue and Yellow - blue corn taco, sweetcorn fritters, squash, chilli and marigold

Spicy Sour Fermented Aubergine with crispy egg, herb polenta and radicchio

Berry and Walnut Tart with sour cream and honeycomb

Through a Matched Funding Scheme, Ania and I managed to double our donation, and transferred £2,090 to the Hospitallers!
